FXS gateways are suitable for call shops and home users. They enable the connection of standard telephones to the Internet and have two main modes of operation:
All FXS gateways can be configured to give callers dial tone as soon as they lift the telephone handset. When callers dial numbers, the gateways send those calls to the DUAL Talk switch for onward routing. When used in conjunction with our Call Shop Booth Management System, they can be used to operate a post-pay call shop. When the gateway has a fixed public IP address, then additional call shop management features are offered, including the ability to enable and disable individual booths from an online control panel.
The Quintum gateways that we provide can also be be used for pre-paid calling card applications. In this mode, a caller will here a voice prompt as soon as they lift the handset on a locally connected telephone. They will be asked to enter their card number and PIN, and these credentials will be authenticated using a connection between the Quintum gateway and our RADIUS server in London. You can create rechargeable calling cards using the online tools offered through our reseller programme.
